7 Insights from Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic
I first read “Eat, Pray, Love back in 2006. I decided to give it out to 8 friends for my 45th birthday. That book changed my life. For the next 5 years I envisioned traveling to Bali, finding love, and creating a new life for myself.
In 2015 I read “Big Magic” and again, my life was infused with even more mojo. Now 10 years after my first reading experience with Elizabeth Gilbert I have actually created my own version of BIG MAGIC leading 5 retreats in Bali, meeting and marrying my soul mate and leaving the pharmaceutical industry after 25 years and became a successful Personal Mastery Life & Business Coach.
Morever, I had a dear friend, Lisa Nalven with a similar kind but different story about how Elizabeth Gilbert impacted her life. Lisa traveled with me this past year to Bali and she and her husband, Robert hosted our wedding in their backyard. Needless to say, I wanted to do something unique and different as one of the many ways I wanted to say thank you to her.
That being said when I heard Elizabeth Gilbert was coming to Miami for a talk at Unity on The Bay it took me all of about 10 seconds to go on line and buy VIP tickets for Lisa and I. When I called Lisa and told her the news she had to backtrack and rebook a purchased ticket to New York to go but she did it in a nanosecond.
A few weeks later there we were in the second row soaking in every word of the woman that has changed the lives of thousand or perhaps millions of women with us being two of them. Which brings me to creating this VLOG and 7 insights video. How could I NOT share the major them? It’s as close as I can get to giving everyone reading this a copy of one of Elizabeth Gilbert’s book.
Hmmmm, that being said. I AM going to give a copy of her book, “Big Magic” to one of the first people 10 people that comment below sharing which one of these insights sparked some sort of “AHA” moment for them too.
Enjoy this episode and I would love to hear your thoughts. Let’s make 2019 our BEST year, shall we?
Hi Wendi,
Not sure when you included this video but I try to visit your site on a regular basis. Can’t wait to read this book as number 2 and number 7 were real highlights for me. I rarely poke fun at myself but now,as I get older, I realize that some of the things I do are insane so I have nothing else to do but laugh. Telling my truth, this one I have issues with as I have always been shy and sometimes when I speak it comes out wrong because I do want to be liked by others. Crazy, yes. Since we know each other a little you can understand what I am trying to say. Need to conquer this issue. Keep trying.
