What happens if you don’t put gas in your car when you are on empty? You run out of gas and could be left stranded out in no man’s land. That’s why even though it’s a hassle to stop to fill up and it costs you money —  you still do it.

Why don’t we do that in our own lives? You know if your car typically gets 1,000 miles out of one tank of gas that is it. You can’t go any further because your car will conk out. Your body is the same deal but conking out has much more serious consequences.

High Performance experts have been studying this stuff for decades and it is well documented.  If you are working at full capacity you need to take a break every 60-90 minutes or you will run out of gas. You might not pass out but you will become sluggish, irritable and inefficient. The crazy thing is most people think they don’t have time to take a break but the opposite is true. If you don’t take a break, then stress, overwhelm, and exhaustion kicks in and you aren’t able to function at your best (and will most likely be functioning at your worst).

There is another option. By the way, I know you already know this stuff but KNOWING and APPLYING are two different animals.

change your mind

You can use the following 5  prong system to bring more ENERGY into your daily life.

1.)  Just admit that you need help, guidance, and support. If you stay in denial then you can’t move forward into the high achievement zone. (Last week I had a very successful coach reach out to ask for help so that she could feel better as her business grows at an accelerated rate).

2.)   Set an ENERGY goal. You probably have set goals in the past for material possessions but goals can be customized to include anything, even MORE energy.

3.)  Set an alarm on your phone, use an egg timer, or get an hour glass and place it on your desk. Work (at a high intensity) for one hour increments at a time and then get up to take a 1-3 minute break. Anything that breaks your state will recharge your battery.

4.)  Plug in your headset and listen to music that energizes your spirit. Some music actually can diminish your energy so choose something that revs up your battery.

5.)  Close your eyes for 1 minute and visualize your project complete. See your body looking super fine. Imagine being on the golf course or doing a yoga pose on the beach.
