Ok…I did an end of the year countdown last year and it really paid off so I decided to do it again.
Most people wait until the the December 31st and start thinking of goals (resolutions) while they are running off to a New Year’s Eve party where they will eat, drink and be merry. No wonder 99% of those goals don’t stick. Why not use an entirely different approach this year? Shake things up and start thinking about these goals NOW…put those goals into place and get a gigantic head start and then let the momentum carry you into 2011 with the wind behind you back.
Are you ready to kick it into high gear and FINISH STRONG?
I personally decided to set 5 new personal goals for the month of October. I suggest that you take a “major” goal like “Being Healthy” and chunk it down into sub or mini goals. My gorilla goal is to “Improve my Health” and here are my 5 mini/sub goals:
1.) drop 5 pounds
2.) drink 8 glasses of water everyday
3.) take ALL of my supplements/vitamins daily
4.) 6 days of exercise (alternating yoga and running)
5.) eat 5 servings of veggies everyday…
I have written down these 5 mini-goals and recite them outloud every morning before I get out of bed. By stating these goals each and everyday I remind myself of my commitment and set my day up to be successful. Another reason that using this process will increase the odds for success is that you are making a commitment for just 1 day at a time. While reprogramming an old behavior or habit it is important to believe you can achieve it with every cell in your body. Making a commitment and following through for just one day is something all of us can truly believe. That is why setting intentions DAILY is so effective.
