You have control over one person and one person only- YOU. As much as you might desire for another the bottom line is that you can’t control, change, or do the work for someone else…it is up to them to do it.
Whew…what a relief. It is challenging enough being accountable for your own actions why on earth would you want to divert your energy away from what you can control and spend it where you can’t?
I am not saying that you shouldn’t love, support, and encourage others to be the very best version of themselves but the work required to make it happen depends on the effort they put into it not yours. The most powerful way to influence another is the “be the change” and model the behavior, attitudes, and outcomes you desire for them. When you are standing in the highest integrity, demonstrating compassion, and giving your very best then those around you will benefit from the spill over effect from your character.
Think about the people you admire most and the traits, characteristics, and behaviors that leave an impression on you. You have the ability to be one of those people and influence those around you by silently demonstrating the things you desire for them. For years I would read Ghandi’s famous quote “Be The Change You Want to See In The World ” until one day it really sunk into my subconscious mind and I decided to finally BE THE CHANGE.
Wishing you Smiles and Success,
