Talking, Speaking, Communicating. Yes we all do it.
Some seem to do it more effectively than others.
We dialogue non stop with each other; converse at work, give advice to family, reminisce over the phone, have meaningful conversations over meals…
You also talk to yourself; while at work, and interacting with family, and on the phone, etc, etc. It never stops. The everyday chit-chat both consciously and subconsciously goes on and on.
How do you feel energetically when YOU are talking? Having an important conversation? Within a group? In an interview? Audition? On stage to an auditorium? What about YouTube or making a video? Making a BIG presentation? Do you put it off, worry about what to say or how to say it? Does FEAR creep in and you start to secretly FREAK out?
If you aren’t feeling calm, confident, and comfortable then your communication is going to just be off. Whether it is in front of a video camera or speaking one on one with a client it is all about the words you choose, how you use them, the level of certainty you have, the looseness of your physical body, the tone in your voice and the ENERGY you project. (AKA…everything is vibration).
Think back to an important meeting or conversation you had where you thought to yourself- “I just sounded like a complete moron,” Why did my words get all jumbled up? Why didn’t I say…XYZ? That was SO not a reflection of what I meant to say, I could have done so much better than that!!!
Here is another thought to ponder. Was your communication grounded? Did you anchor your truth and were you coming from a place of certainty? Could that conversation have gone WAY differently if ______________? (fill in the blank). Would there have been a different outcome if you would have had more confidence, conviction and connected in a more meaningful way?
The art of communication is a teachable skill. Anyone who wants to share a message is capable of delivering one that can be heard the way it is intended. Everyone has a voice that can be developed and utilized to change lives, make a difference and help change the world. Your words matter. You matter. It all matters.
Take it in, big sigh, and speak it out,
Wendi
