3 Ways to Decide and Be Done With It
Have you ever had to make a big decision and found yourself going back and forth unable to make a choice?
You and I both know that the longer you are in a “holding pattern” circling around with all the pros and cons, the what ifs, and the fear you are actually trading precious moments of success, happiness and contentment.
Ok, so you agree but you are frozen, stuck and can’t seem to figure it out. I thought you might say that, so let’s get down to basics and “decide and be done with it”. Here are three sure-fire methods to assist you.
1.) Decide to decide– I highly recommend that you invest in a stop watch, an alarm clock, or an egg timer. Set the timer for 20 minutes close your eyes and allow your deep sense of knowing what you want to happen. You already have the answer inside of you and you just need to give yourself permission to feel the answer. When the ringer buzzes your time is up and you make your final decision.
2.) Get out a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. Write in big bold letters at the very top – My Decision – Yes or No. Start listing the pros on the right side and the cons on the left side. When you are finished, circle the one that feels right.
3.) Act quickly. Pick up the phone, send the email, or hit the “take action now” button on your computer but do it right now. Don’t wait until after you walk the dog, go to the supermarket or cook dinner because the key is to cross the item off your list and go on.
Wendi,
You are a woman of action and this is a great way for people to stay focused on proper action. It is so easy to put off making a decsion and that can really hurt productivity. If you make a wrong decision, you can at least correct it.
If you don’t make any decision at all, then no one can help you.
Thanks Again,
Jupiter Jim
